COVID VACCINE FAQ

Q:  Am I eligible for the booster?

A: If you received PFIZER for your first and second doses, are 65 years or older, or are 18 years or older with a pre-existing condition, then YES, you are eligible. For a list of approved pre-existing conditions, see the CDC website HERE).  Sigler Pharmacy will not administer the vaccine until it has been at least SIX MONTHS since the 2nd dose.

Q: I got Moderna (or Johnson & Johnson) for my first and second dose.  Am I eligible for the booster?

A: NO, not yet.  Please keep checking back and watching the CDC website for updated information.  We will add Moderna back onto our schedules once the CDC approves boosters for Moderna or J&J.

Q:  I’d like to get a different vaccine for the booster. Can I do that?

A: NO, it is not recommended by the CDC and Sigler Pharmacy will not administer a third dose without meeting the criteria.

Q: Do I need a doctor’s note for the booster?

A: No.

Q: Will my insurance pay for the Covid vaccine?

A: Most likely, yes.  Regardless, there is no cost to you.  If you do not have insurance or it does not pay for it, we will submit our administration fee to the government using your SSN for reimbursement.

Q: Do I have to wait to get a different vaccine after the Covid vaccine? (i.e. influenza, Shingrix)

A: No.  The CDC has removed the guideline stating you need to separate vaccines by a certain amount of time.  You can get other vaccines on the same day or close to the Covid vaccine with no restrictions.
